Illinois State University's combined think tank/laboratory on education preparation known as the Center for the Study of Policy Education takes on a new endeavor this summer. Dr. Mary Kay Scharf (pictured) heads up a program designed to help teachers advance their careers as administrators, training them on how to effectively lead schools, which is becoming an increasingly more difficult job given generally higher demands and lesser available resources. WGLT's Willis Kern has more.
Replacing Mary Kay Scharf as Oakland Elementary School principal is David LaFrance. His appointment, as well as Scharf's term as Director of Principal Leadership, begins August 4th.
