Patrons at the Carmike Palace Cinema 10 will be able to have a meal and beer while watching a movie. The Bloomington City Council's approving a liquor license for the east side venue. Owners say they'll pump somewhere between $3-Million and $6-Million dollars into upgrades. Two council members, Kevin Lower and Judy Stearns are in opposition to the idea. The theatre will cut seating approximately in half, and have wait staff serve patrons. The shift will require the theater to close while the work is being done. The council is also preparing a "memorandum of understanding," to better define Bloomington's relationship with Central Illinois Arena Management, the group that manages the downtown coliseum.
