A second try at passing a road use agreement between McLean County Government and the pipeline company Enbridge has gone off without a hitch. Board members balked earlier as protestors showed up to oppose the pipeline through McLean County. The project is to take dense Canadian tar sands oil to refineries in southern Illinois. County Transportation Committee Chair Jim Soeldner points out the agreement just saves work for the county administration.
Enbridge agrees to reimburse the county for damage done by overweight trucks to roads as they build the pipeline.
