The Miller Park Zoo has received a $700,000 state grant for capital improvements. It is the largest grant the zoo has ever received. Improvements will include design and construction of a new entrance, an expanded gift shop, a concession stand, a new Monkey exhibit, and an additional parking lot. Zoo Superintendent Jay Tetzloff says they are excited at being able to make progress on the zoo master plan. Timetables have yet to be drafted. The projects will follow a new flamingo exhibit which will begin construction early next year.
