(pictured, Tap/Jazz artist Tanya Picard) American Tap Dance and Jazz have been closely intertwined since the arrival of slaves from Africa in the 1600's. For most of her life Tanya Picard has been studying this relationship with some of the most renowned names in tap, and now passes that knowledge on to her students in Bloomington/Normal. Recently, Jon Norton caught up with Picard at her studio near downtown Bloomington.
