The state auditor general's office says Southern Illinois University is missing 357 computers, and school officials don't know if they're lost or stolen. The 2013 audit was released yesterday. 265 computers are missing from the Carbondale campus, 92 from the Edwardsville campus. They're valued at more than $460,000. SIU President Randy Dunn says neither the university nor the auditor knows whether the computers were stolen or whether they simply can't find them. The audit says SIU failed to adopt measures to prevent theft or loss of computers since the last report. Dunn says the university will implement a corrective action plan to stem the losses.
