YWCA Continues Struggle Against Racism And Domestic Violence 38 McLean County women have been nominated for consideration as Women of Distinction by the YWCA in its annual awards program. And this year the head of the National YWCA will preside over the ceremony this evening. Charlie Schlenker talks with the Y's Executive Director.

   
The first appearance of the YWCA in Bloomington Normal was on the ISNU campus in 1873. This was the first college chapter of the YWCA in America. The McLean County YWCA Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony is this evening. There are 37 nominees in six categories: Business, Creative Arts & Entertainment, Education, Professions, Social Services and Volunteer Service.
