Colorful, Rare Migrating Birds Stop Over In McLean County Birds of many species are currently migrating across McLean County. They can be heard and seen flitting about in wooded areas especially in the early morning hours. Birders -- as birdwatching enthusiasts are known -- are also out in force this time of year. WGLT's Judy Valente joined one group of binocular-toting birders from the John Wesley Powell Audubon Society for a walk through Ewing Park and learned that birding is an exercise in patience that often rewards.

Professor Given Harper says the red-tailed hawks nesting above the baseball field at Illinois Wesleyan probably will remain there until mid-June.
