The body of a 26 year old Bloomington woman was found near a ditch in rural Stanford, Illinois one year ago. Haleigh Eichhorn died of an assault. Police say they are still investigating Eichhorn's disappearance nine days before her body was found and the circumstances around her death. Detectives are again urging anyone who might know something about Eichhorn's last days and hours to come forward or to leave anonymous information with the Crimestoppers hotline. She was last seen on April 28th of 2013. Her body had no personal belongings with it and there was no vehicle nearby when a farmer spraying his fields spotted the corpse. Investigators have declined to say how long they believe Eichhorn's body lay abandoned, though the coroner's office did seek insect decay data and toxicology reports. Eichhorn was 5-foot-4 inches in height and weighed about 130 pounds. She had blue eyes and brown hair and the following tattoos; "Lily" on her left wrist, a shooting star on her right shoulder, and a heart on her left foot.
