The U.S. Department of Education is investigating allegations of sex discrimination at Knox College in Galesburg. Knox President Teresa Amott says in a campus-wide email that the investigation began in January. It involves a report of alleged sexual misconduct from October, though the email gave no details. College spokeswoman Megan Scott says she cannot reveal specifics. Officials with the Education Department's Office for Civil Rights will visit the Galesburg campus the week of May 19 to interview students. Scott says the college was informed of the investigation in January and has been cooperating.
