The Unit Five School Board has chosen a replacement for Board Member Todd Ferguson. Ferguson moved out of state because of his job. Current Unit Five Citizens Advisory Council President Denise Schuster gets the nod from among five candidates interviewed and ten applications. Board President John Puzauskas says the district is lucky to have many talented individuals who want to serve. He says based on her record of service Schuster will do a wonderful job ensuring Unit Five educates each student to achieve personal excellence. Schuster has a degree in Music Education and is a former educator. She is now a manager at State Farm Bank. She will serve until the April 2015 election. The winner of that contest would serve the rest of the term until 2017.
