Officials in Evansville are offering greater promotion of a restored World War II ship as they try to keep the floating museum at its current Ohio River home. The board that oversees the LST-325 are considering a proposal from Peoria to move the ship there. Evansville Museum director Mary Bower told the LST board about plans for an exhibit highlighting the ship, and new signs about where visitors can see it. Federal rules limit where docks are allowed along the river, but Evansville's mayor offered the LST board first rights to the current Tropicana Evansville dock if the casino is ever allowed to move onto land.
