The Bloomington city council passes a budget, the Mayor says he'll veto it. And so it goes in the efforts to come up with a budget. The budget approved by aldermen does not include utility tax hikes Mayor Tari Renner has endorsed. The council will meet again Friday evening for another vote. The council could override the mayoral veto with six votes. The proposed budget approved at last night's council meeting does include a 4-cent a gallon gas tax hike, an amusement tax, and dips into the city's reserves for $1.2-Million. Renner says that does not address the future. Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner is Mike McCurdy's guest on today's "Sound Ideas" on GLT. He'll answer your questions this morning begining at 11.
