Dozens of homeowners in East Peoria have filed a lawsuit against the city after landslides last year. The lawsuit was filed in Tazewell County Circuit Court on behalf of four families displaced from their homes and 24 other homeowners. Ground started giving way during heavy rains last April. Families were evacuated after backyards broke apart and slid down ravines. The lawsuit wants the city to pay to make the houses habitable again. It also wants the city to restore the marketability of the homes that lost value in the subdivision. East Peoria City Administrator Tom Brimberry said he hadn't read the lawsuit. But Brimberry said he's been in touch with the homeowners' attorney and has ``discussed various projects for the area.''
