Peoria transportation officials have approved Sunday bus service starting in June. The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District unanimously made the decision this week. Officials say the routes will be the first Sunday bus service since the transit district was established in 1970. Ten buses will run nine routes starting at 8:15 Sunday mornings. The last buses will leave at 7:30. That leaves five routes not in operation on Sundays. The cost of the Sunday bus service is estimated at about $1.6 million a year.
