April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It was established in 1983 to acknowledge the importance of families and communities in the effort to prevent child abuse and neglect. Central Illinois first-time author Kelly Yordy is also making an effort to help stop the cycle of abuse with her debut book, "Shattering Silence: A Journey of Healing." For years, Yordy suffered abuse at the hands of her father, and has now published a book that aims to help those who also struggle with the pain of abuse. Laura Kennedy has more.
