School board members in Danville won't be considering a full uniform when they vote on attire for students later this month. But they may ban one garment that's a mainstay for many kids. Board members will vote April 23 on a policy that would ban blue jeans from school on all but special occasions designated by principals. Most board members say they back a policy change requiring students to wear pants, skirts or skirts that are khaki or other solid colors. Board member Darlene Halloran says jeans could be used as a reward for good attendance or other good behavior. Board members Bill Dobbles opposes the no-denim rule. He worries it could be too expensive for many parents to follow.
