A Story of Hair and Healing for Survivors of Domestic Abuse In another of our occasional series, "The Soul of Mclean County," featuring peple and places that add to the community's well-being, WGLT's Judy Valente visits a hair salon that is the dream of stylist Donna Baker, a place where women escaping domestic violence can go for a physical and emotional makeover.

Lydia's Place will hold an open house for the public this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The salon is in Room 119 of the old junior high school building at 510 E. Washington Street in Bloomington. Donna Baker says Lydia's Place is still in need of a laptop computer and window air conditioning unit. She says she hopes donors for those items will come forward.
