In another of our occasional series, "The Soul of Mclean County," featuring peple and places that add to the community's well-being, WGLT's Judy Valente visits a hair salon that is the dream of stylist Donna Baker, a place where women escaping domestic violence can go for a physical and emotional makeover.
Lydia's Place will hold an open house for the public this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The salon is in Room 119 of the old junior high school building at 510 E. Washington Street in Bloomington. Donna Baker says Lydia's Place is still in need of a laptop computer and window air conditioning unit. She says she hopes donors for those items will come forward.
