Unit Five Chooses New Superintendent The Unit Five School District has picked a new Superintendent from among several finalists. Mark Daniel is currently the Superintendent of Dowagiac Union Schools in Southwest Michigan. The School board will vote on the choice Thursday. School Board President John Puzauskas says Daniel will be an excellent fit with Unit Five. Daniel has also been a high school principal in Indiana, and a high school math teacher before going into administration. He would begin July first pending board approval and contract negotiations. Daniel would succeed Gary Niehaus who is retiring in June.
