Bloomington is losing its Ward 5 alderman. Jennifer McDade says she's stepping down for personal reasons. In a release from the city, McDade says she submitted her resignation to Mayor Tari Renner, and says she plans to stay involved in the community but resigning is in the best interests of her family at this time. McDade was first elected to the council in 2009 and was relected last spring. For years, she was a member of the School of Communication faculty at ISU and has worked at State Farm Insurance for the last two years.
