Police in Normal are warning recent patrons of the Steak N Shake Restaurant on Veterans Parkway their credit card information may be compromised. Three people have been arrested for an alleged credit card "skimming" scheme. That's a financial crime in which an electronic device is used to copy credit card information when the card is used. Several law enforcement agencies began investigating when seven people reported fraudulent credit card charges in December and January. Police say Steak N Shake has cooperated fully and this has been identified as an isolated incident by one employee at the Veterans Parkway location only. Officers urge people who have used a credit card at that Steak N Shake between November 15th and February first AND who have unauthorized transactions on their cards to contact police. Accused are: 19-year old Marlon Pettis, 36-year old Arneka Boddie, and 34-year old Benarro Williams, all of Normal. Police say after executing a search warrant they have evidence from the crimes.
