A former Congressman and Transportation Secretary from Peoria is joining a law firm as a senior policy adviser. Ray LaHood is joining DLA Piper. LaHood is not a lawyer. But the Republican says he'll be working to help clients figure out "how to implement good policy through good planning and strategic planning." Still, LaHood won't be a lobbyist and says he won't call his former colleagues "asking for meetings." LaHood's been busy since leaving the Obama administration last summer. He has a book on bipartisanship being published this spring and is lecturing at Bradley University, his alma mater.
