The proposed sales tax referendum for McLean County Schools is a step closer to the election ballot. Regional Superintendent of Schools Mark Jontry says he has filed paperwork with the McLean County Clerk and Bloomington Election Commission to place the measure before voters March 18th. Resolutions from school boards representing more than half of the student enrollment in McLean County have been filed with the Dewitt-Livingston-McLean Regional Office. If voters approve the 1% County Schools Facilities Tax, area districts would be allowed to use proceeds from the revenue to fund school improvements and maintenance.
