The City of Bloomington says it is improving in scores of government transparency. The Illinois Policy Institute says the Bloomington web site is now above average among Illinois's largest municipalities for allowing access to information about such things as contracts, budgets, meetings, financial audits, salary and benefits, lobbying, and taxes and fees. The city has improved by 26% on its scoring since the last rating and Mayor Tari Renner says they hope to move from 77% to more than 85% by the end of April.
