Proponents of changing Bloomington's system of government have submitted petitions to place the item on the March primary ballot. The group submitted 1,238 signatures, far more than the 972 necessary. If voters approve the referendum, the city could shift from 9 aldermen, each representing a different ward, to one with five ward aldermen, and three at-large aldermen.
Yesterday was the deadline to submit petition signatures.
