Candidates looking to run in the March primary have begun filing their paperwork with the State Board of Elections. Anyone who was in line by 8 this morning gets a chance at the top spot on the ballot. As IPR's Amanda Vinicky reports, six men who want to be Illinois' next governor made that deadline.
In McLean County, the two Republican Candidates for Sheriff Jeff Ellston and Jon Sandage filed at the same time. A lottery will be held later to determine which will appear first on the ballot. Other McLean County Candidates who filed at 8 a.m. include County Clerk/Recorder Candidate Kathy Michael (R) and County Board Candidates Julie Brandt (D8), Chuck Erickson (R10), Randall Martin (R3), and Paul Segobiano (D8).
McLean County Board Candidates who filed after 8a.m. include Don Cavallini (R1), Sondra "Sonny" O'Connor (R5), Sally Pyne (D4), and Carlo Robustelli (D8). The final day to file is December 2nd.
