Two rock groups from Illinois will headline a benefit concert to raise money for victims of last weekend's Illinois tornadoes. Styx, from Chicago, and REO Speedwagon, from Champaign, will headline the event called "Rock to the Rescue Extends a Hand to Those in Need." The concert will be held at Bloomington's US Cellular Coliseum December 4th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and cost between $28 and $58. Styx guitarist James Young and REO Speedwagon guitarist and singer Kevin Cronin are both Illinois natives. Young says Illinois residents have "lent support and a helping hand" to the artists. Now he says: "It's our turn to ask what we can do for this great state."
The nonprofit Rock to the Rescue was founded 12 years ago.
