Bloomington Council Structure Change Sought Rob Fazzini of Bloomington wants to change the governance structure for the city. In a GLT interview with Charlie Schlenker, Fazzini says his lawyer advises him to prevent problems by making it clear he is not spending city money or acting on behalf of the city in this effort. But, Fazzini says he believes there would be advantages to moving from a straight ward system to one that also has at-large seats on the city council.

One potential disadvantage to changing the council structure to a mix of at large and wards in the city of Bloomington is that each ward Alderman would have to represent more people. But, Rob Fazzini does not find it a compelling objection.

Nearly 1000 petition signatures to place the question on the ballot would have to be submitted to the Bloomington Election Commission by December 16th to place the issue on the ballot.
