Cooler than usual temperatures in the third quarter reduced earnings for Ameren Corporation. The Company says in government filings that its net income was $305 million, down a few million from last year. Partly offsetting the reduced revenue are higher rates Missouri and favorable regulatory changes in Illinois. Year to date, the company says it has $464 million in net income, a reduction of $43 million from the first nine months of last year. Ameren has also received approval to sell off some of its assets including plants in Elgin and Gibson City.
