Thursday is Brendan Heffner's one-month anniversary on the job as chief of police in Bloomington. During the Randy McKinley administration, which ended early this year, the department held regular bi-monthly meetings with members of the public, to focus on a certain aspect of the department's operations, and to answer questions. Those sessions are resuming under Heffner's leadership. The next meeting is tomorrow night, Nov. 6 at 5:30 at Bloomington Police Headquarters. Heffner stopped by the GLT studios and talked about his first few weeks on the job with WGLT's Willis Kern.
Bloomington's bi-monthly Public Focus meetings involving the police department are re-starting now with Brendan Heffner in the job. The next meeting will be at 5:30 tomorrow night in the Billy Osborne Meeting Room at the Bloomington Police Station.
