Historical preservationists and writing advocates are putting on workshops in the Springfield area to help aspiring writers explore everything from their ancestry to holiday angst. The workshops, December, are being organized by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Vachel Lindsay Association. Among the sessions is one December 8th entitled, "Facing Fear in Your Fiction." It's devoted to help writers explore their fears. Another December 15th is dubbed, "Bad Fruitcake, Burnt Turkey, Good Stories." It's a session devoted to helping writers capture the tension and turmoil around the holidays. Instructors are from the University of Illinois at Springfield and Benedictine University.
