A weather research service based at the University of Illinois is offering a free new resource for detailed data on the Midwest weather and climate. The Midwestern Regional Climate Center says users who register can access detailed information on temperatures, precipitation and a range of other weather through its new cli-MATE page. The centers says the data can be sorted by a wide range of time factors, from hourly to monthly or annual, and by weather station or state. The center's new site also offers a great deal of ranked information such as driest summers and snowiest winters. There are also growing-season data tools for farmers and gardeners.
