The Illinois Attorney General's office has announced indictments related to a LUST investigation. That actually means Leaking Underground Storage Tank. Spokesman Andrew Mason says a followup inspection of an environmental remediation project at a site in Gridley in McLean County found that the firm that had allegedly removed contamination and old tanks had not laid a concrete cap over the dirt as the plan called for. Five Springfield area men face various criminal fraud charges. Mason says the scope of the alleged scam could involve 300 sites around Ilinois and $13.6 million in state money.
