Community Becoming "Certified Work Ready"

Bloomington-Normal and McLean County are moving toward becoming a Certified Work Ready Community. ACT -- the group known for college entrance exams -- is behind individiual testing to determining a person's work readiness and as a result, a community's work readiness. The level acheived by the community will be one more tool in the economic development tool box used by the Economic Development Council of the Bloomington Normal Area to attract or expand business and industry. Mike O'Grady is the E.D.C. interim CEO and tells WGLT's Mike McCurdy that once the area acheives Certfied Work Ready Community status, an employer will be able to determine the quality of the workforce at a glance.
