You don't need to study science to enjoy a play about it. At least not according to Matthew Dearing, who is director of "QED," which stars central Illinois actor Al Scheider as theoretical physicist Richard Feynman. Feynman helped develop the atomic bomb and gained notoriety in the 1980s as a member of the panel that investigated NASA after the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger. Dearing tells IPR's Peter Gray it was his OWN background in physics which inspired him to bring the play to stages in central Illinois. It shows Friday and Saturday nights, October 4 and 5 at the Madden Arts Center in Decatur.
