BLoomington Republican State Senator Bill Brady says he's getting ready to announce his running mate. The gubernatorial candidate is holding an event at 1 O'clock this afternoon in Chicago to announce his pick for lieutenant governor. This year's campaign marks the first time candidates run with their choices for the second-in-command position. Brady also ran for governor in 2010.
GOP candidate Kirk Dillard announced his choice for lieutenant governor earlier this month, picking state Representative Jil Tracy of Quincy. Meanwhile, Republican state treasurer Dan Rutherford picked Chicago attorney Steve Kim. Venture capitalist Bruce Rauner hasn't named his selection.
