The Bloomington Normal Jaycees says this year's Bruegala broke a record for attendance and profit for the charitable event. There was a 36% increase in attendance to 5,700 people who contributed $55,000 to watch live entertainment and sip more than 300 types of beer. Charities receiving money this year include the Court Appointed Special Advocates of McLean County, the Autism Society, the Children's Home and Aid Society, Bike Blo-No, Great Strides Against Cystic Fibrosis, the Seedling Theater, and the Jaycees. Earnings from the festival co-sponsored by the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts were also up 37% this year.
