Immigrant Women Experiences Chronicled Women immigrants often go into the informal economy where they are subject to low pay, abuse, and other forms of exploitation. WGLT's Charlie Schlenker talks with ISU Scholar Maura Toro-Morn an editor of a new book of case studies on the experience of immigrant women, which breaks new ground in trying to draw parallels on experiences across the various ethnic origins of the women who come to the U.S. to better themselves and their relatives, even without documents.

The book Immigrant Women Workers in the Neo-Liberal Age is published by the University of Illinois Press.
