A new show at the Illinois State University Planetarium examines mankind's view of comets throughout history. The university says the show, "On the Tail of a Comet," explores mankind's fear of, and fascination with, the celestial bodies soaring across the sky. ISU says it also explains the true nature of what some ancient societies and cultures considered a harbinger of doom. The show will run on weekends starting Friday and continuing through Nov. 16. Show times are Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. There will be no programs Oct. 18 or Oct. 26.
