McLean County has its second West Nile Virus-positive bird of the summer. Health Department officials report a bird collected in Bloomington tested positive for the mosquito-borne illness. They also say West Nile was detected at two mosquito collection locations in the county. Last year, McLean County reported five West Nile positive birds along with one human case. So far this year, no human cases have been reported in the county. Last year, 290 people statewide tested positive for West Nile with 12 deaths. The McLean County health department is continuing to accept birds for testing, but not from the central city zip codes 61701 or 61761.
