Bloomington Police are warning of an increase in aggravated batteries, particularly on the west side of town. Victims report they have been walking alone between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. when they were attacked by groups of young men in their teens and twenties. Officers say the suspects typically demand money and beat up the victims. Police urge the public to stay on well lit highly traveled streets, walk close to the curb and away from concealing shrubs, avoid parking lots, alley, and unfamiliar neighborhoods, and travel in groups.
