The acquisition of Pete's Pride brand foods by Fairbury based Steidinger Foods will bring about a dozen jobs to the south-eastern McLean County community immediately, with the possibility of more hiring by the end of the year. Brad Steidinger says his company saw the purchase as a chance to grow:
Steidinger says some of the products are being made at Monogram Food's Muncie Indiana facility. Pete's pride is best know for it's pork fritters, which are now being made in Fairbury. Steidingers also markets "Bird Farm" products after aquiring that brand in 2009.
