The number of homes that sold last month in Bloominton-Normal, and the average prices both went up, according to new numbers from the Bloomington-Normal Association of realtors. BNA president Thom Jones says it's a huge improvement from 2008:
The Average price on a home in the twin cities in June was $189,000, six and a half percent higher than one year ago. There were 325 dwellings changing hands in June, eclipsing May's 307. May was the first month in over 7 years home sales were above 300 units. Jones says part of the increase is seasonal and part timing:
Jones says they perceive the housing train as leaving the station, and don't want to be left on the platform.
