The Peoria city council votes overwhelmingly in favor of an aid package for the Chief's stadium. The 9-to-1 vote forgives $1.2 Million dollars the minor league team owes the city. Also part of the package is $2 million from Caterpillar for ballpark naming rights over 10 years, and about $1 Million from Bradley University over the next decade to play at the stadium. In return the Chief's owners pledge to kick in $2.7 Million in new investment, and provide cash and equity.
Had the package not been approved, Caterpillar said it would pull it's naming rights offer off the table.
