It's been three-and-a-half years since five members of a central Illinois family were found killed in their home, beaten with a tire iron. Today the trial for the first of two brothers charged in their deaths will begin. Jury selection in Christopher Harris' trial could start as soon as tomorrow.
Harris and his brother, Jason Harris, have pleaded not guilty to murder in the September 2009 beating deaths of 46-year-old Raymond Gee, his 39-year-old wife, Ruth Gee, 16-year-old Justina Constant, 14-year-old Dillen Constant and 11-year-old Austin Gee. Tabitha Gee, then 3, survived.
Authorities say the brothers entered the home, intending to rob the family and sexually assault one daughter.
Christopher Harris' attorneys say his client killed Dillen Constant after walking in on the boy as he killed his family.
