Two current university presidents, a provost and a current Illinois State University vice president make up the pool of finalists for president of ISU. Randy Dunn, former Illinois School Superintendent and current president of Murray State University in Kentucky will be in Normal for campus interviews next Wednesday. Dunn's contract at Murray State, which was not renewed last month, runs through June of next year. He's also reportedly a current finalist for president at Youngstown State University. Tim Flanagan, who is president of Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts will hold interviews April 26th.

Larry Dietz has been ISU's Vice President for Student Affairs for nearly two years after a stint as vice chancellor at SIU-Carbondale. His formal on-campus appearance is April 29th. Karla Hughes is provost and vice president of academic affairs at Morehead State University in Kentucky. She'll be the first candidate on campus April 22nd. Hughes was a candidate for president at Emporia State in Kansas in 2011.

Michael McCuskey, chair of the ISU Board of Trustees, calls the finalist pool "exceptionally qualified and diverse." The hope is to have the next president in office by the start of the fall semester. Al Bowman, ISU's 17th president, announced his resignation due to health concerns late last year.
