Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says it feels as though one of her life's missions has become to save homes and rebuild the housing market. She spoke to a crowd at the Illinois Housing Leaders Conference in Springfield. The third-term attorney general says her office saw the signs before the housing market collapse. She vowed to continue fighting for fair housing practices. In 2011, Madigan and federal officials announced a $335 million national settle with Bank of America subsidiary Countrywide over allegations of discriminatory loans. Madigan is mulling a 2014 gubernatorial run, which would mean challenging Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn. She told reporters Monday that she hasn't made a decision yet.
