Low turnout prompts county clerk to call for precinct consolidation The Mclean County clerk says she's seen four elections in just two and a half years on the job and is ready to suggest some changes. Kathy Michael says since voting in the 8th precinct, at ISU is perennially low, the McLean County Board should consider moving it:

"Instead of goint to ISU all those people in those two precincts might go to a nearby church that's already a polling place. And then you pick up three or four surrounding that, we could really cut costs there for the taxpayers. I'm going to present that this summer to the board."

Michael says only four votes were cast in the 8th precinct. The 3rd precinct is at 304 Jersey, and the 4th and 5th precincts just five blocks away at a shared location. She says six judges were paid $145 dollars each to count the four votes cast at ISU.
