Police in Peoria are targeting two gangs in connection with a recent series of shootings that have left three people dead and one seriously injured. Chief Steve Settingsgaard called out the gangs Zone 4 and 4 Corner Hustlers following the most recent shooting, which claimed the life of 25-year old Brandon Thomas. Settingsgaard promised a greater police presence and the help of other agencies in an effort to curb the violence. 32-year old Kelsey Coleman died Friday night following a home invasion and 17-year old Treyshawn Blakely was shot in the head and killed Sunday. Police have arrested one man in connection with the Coleman murder and are searching for a suspect in the Blakely killing. They say that murder was the result of an internal gang dispute.
