It looks like voter turnout in Bloomington-Normal and McLean County may be even lighter than predicted by election officials. McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael says she was hoping for 18% which would match the turnout in the municipal elections four years ago. But random checks indicated the turnout is lower than that. In the city of Bloomington, 4,891 voters had cast ballots by 2 pm today. That's about 10% of the total number of registered voters (46,7455). In the Bloomington elections four years ago, mayoral candidate Tari Renner lost to incumbent Steve Stockton by just 16 votes. Renner is pitted against former alderman John Hanson and ex-gubernatorial hopeful Lex Green. The polls close at 7pm. GLT will provide election night updates twice an hour beginning at 8.
